1. About us

plan4life is provided by Daniel Ruffle, a sole trader based in England, trading as plan4life, Dan Group App Studio and Dan Group ("we", "us", "our"). Our address is 6 Heather Gardens, Farnborough, Hampshire, GU14 0RU and you can contact us at contact@plan4life.me. References in these Terms to "plan4life" mean Daniel Ruffle trading under that name.

2. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing, registering for, or using the plan4life platform and its associated services ("the Service"), you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be legally bound by these Terms and Conditions ("Terms") and our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated herein by reference. If you do not agree to any part of these Terms, you must not access or use the Service. Your continued use of the Service constitutes ongoing acceptance of any amendments to these Terms.

3. Description of Service

plan4life is a digital personal development platform that enables users to assess their satisfaction across key life areas, set goals and milestones, track progress over time, and receive AI-powered recommendations. The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any aspect of the Service at any time without prior notice.

4. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years of age to use the Service. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you meet this age requirement and that you have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement. The Service is not intended for use by minors.

5. User Accounts & Security

You are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality and security of your account credentials, including your password. You agree to notify us immediately at contact@plan4life.me of any unauthorised access to or use of your account. plan4life shall not be liable for any loss or damage arising from your failure to protect your account credentials. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information at registration and to keep your account information up to date.

6. Access, Donations & Refunds

plan4life is free to use. Every feature, including all 8 life areas, is available to every user at no cost — there is no subscription, trial period or paywall.

• Donations are entirely optional and do not unlock any additional features.
• No access is ever withheld if you choose not to donate.
• We do not offer refunds for donations, except where required by applicable consumer law.
• If we ever introduce paid features, we will give reasonable notice before doing so.

7. Personal Data & Privacy

We collect, process, and store personal data as described in our Privacy Policy. By using the Service, you consent to such processing. The following applies specifically to how your data is handled:

• Data you provide: This includes your name, email address, life assessment scores, journal entries, goals, milestones, and any other content you input into the Service.
• Data storage: Your data is stored on secure third-party cloud infrastructure. We implement industry-standard technical and organisational security measures to protect your data.
• Data use: Your personal data is used solely to provide and improve the Service. We do not sell, rent, or otherwise commercially exploit your personal data to third parties.
• Data retention: We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as necessary to provide the Service. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymise your personal data within a reasonable period, except where we are required to retain it by law.
• Third-party processors: We may share data with trusted third-party service providers (e.g. payment processors, email delivery services, cloud infrastructure providers) strictly for the purpose of operating the Service. These processors are contractually bound to handle your data securely and in accordance with applicable data protection law.

8. Your Content & Licence

You retain full ownership of all content you submit to the Service, including journal entries, goals, notes, and assessments ("User Content"). By submitting User Content, you grant plan4life a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to store, process, and display your User Content solely to provide the Service to you. This licence terminates when you delete the content or close your account. We do not claim ownership of your User Content and will never use it for marketing or share it with third parties without your explicit consent.

9. AI-Generated Content & No Professional Advice

plan4life incorporates AI-powered features that generate personalised suggestions, goal recommendations, and motivational content. All AI-generated content is provided for informational and motivational purposes only and does not constitute professional advice of any kind, including but not limited to medical, psychological, financial, legal, or career advice.

You acknowledge that:

• AI outputs may be inaccurate, incomplete, or not suitable for your specific circumstances.
• You should always consult a qualified professional before making decisions that affect your health, finances, legal situation, or wellbeing.
• plan4life is not responsible for any decisions you make based on AI-generated recommendations.

10. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service in any way that:

• Violates any applicable local, national, or international law or regulation.
• Is fraudulent, deceptive, or misleading.
• Attempts to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Service, its servers, or any connected systems.
• Involves transmitting harmful, offensive, defamatory, or infringing content.
• Attempts to reverse engineer, copy, or exploit any part of the Service's software or AI systems.
• Interferes with or disrupts the integrity or performance of the Service.

Breach of this clause may result in immediate suspension or termination of your account.

11. Intellectual Property

All intellectual property rights in the Service, including its software, design, branding, and content (excluding User Content), are owned by or licensed to Daniel Ruffle (trading as plan4life). Nothing in these Terms grants you any right to use our trademarks, logos, or other brand features without our prior written consent. You may not copy, reproduce, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from any part of the Service without express written permission.

12. Disclaimer of Warranties

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without any warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory. We do not warrant that:

• The Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free from viruses or other harmful components.
• Any information or content on the Service is accurate, complete, or up to date.
• The results obtained from using the Service will meet your expectations or requirements.

13. Limitation of Liability

Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot be limited or excluded by law, including your statutory rights as a consumer.

Subject to that, and to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Daniel Ruffle (trading as plan4life and Dan Group App Studio) and his agents and subcontractors shall not be liable for any:

• Indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages.
• Loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or business opportunities.
• Damages arising from your reliance on AI-generated content or recommendations.
• Any interruption, suspension, or termination of the Service.

Where liability cannot be excluded by law, our total aggregate liability to you for any claims arising under or in connection with these Terms shall not exceed the total amount you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or £100 (or equivalent currency), whichever is greater.

14. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify Daniel Ruffle and his agents and subcontractors against claims, losses and reasonable costs arising from your breach of these Terms, your User Content or your violation of third-party rights, to the extent caused by you.

15. Third-Party Links & Services

The Service may contain links to third-party websites or services. These are provided for convenience only and do not constitute endorsement. We have no control over and accept no responsibility for the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party sites or services.

16. Termination

We may suspend or permanently terminate your account and access to the Service if we believe you have breached these Terms or engaged in conduct harmful to other users or to the Service. We will give reasonable notice unless you have seriously breached these Terms or there is a risk of harm, and will let you export your data where possible. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. You may delete your account at any time from your Profile page. Clauses relating to intellectual property, liability, indemnification, and governing law shall survive termination.

17. Governing Law & Disputes

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales. If you are a consumer in another jurisdiction, you may also have rights under the laws of your local jurisdiction that cannot be excluded.

18. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. Where changes are material, we will notify you via email or an in-app notice at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Continued use of the Service after the effective date of updated Terms constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the revised Terms, you should stop using the Service and may request account deletion.

19. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid, unlawful, or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, that provision shall be deemed severed from these Terms and the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.

20. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Daniel Ruffle (trading as plan4life) with respect to your use of the Service and supersede all prior agreements, representations, or understandings of any kind.
